Banaue Rice Terraces

These 200 year old rice terraces were carved into the mountains of Ifugao by the ancestors of the Batad Indigenous people. With an ancients irrigation system from the rainforests, it is believed that if the steps are put end to end, these would encircle half the globe. Sadly, it is at the brink of losing its luster as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
