Souvenirs For My Friend
Two weeks before the coming of my friend from USA, I bought her souvenirs made from Davao such as t-shirts, cellphone case, beaded coin purse, abaca coin purse, key holders and durian fruit refrigerator magnet. I bought all of these things at Aldevinco store together with my friend Michelle. It was her who told me to bought in this store because they sell cheap souvenirs but quality and all the things that I was looking were all available there. I hope my friend would like my gifts as a token for coming here in my place for the first time. I had a great time with her and I hope to see her again soon as promised.
Camel Back
Last week, my friend Honney invited us to join for fun run on the second week of december. At first I was hesitant to join because I wasn’t ready to run and I didn’t have shoes but she let me borrow her shoes and paid us the sponsorship. I already bought leggings, small mail bag, long t-shirt and camelbak for my bottled water while running. I also started hiking everyday to warm me up so that on the day of the fun run I would be ready and strong for the 5k that we will be going to run.
My Friend’s First Visit
I had been busy this few days, my friend Rochelle came here to visit Davao City. She stayed in the hotel nearby and requested me to be with her for 3 days going to the beach, restaurants and shopping. I took a leave for 1 day at work until she will return to USA this morning. She said she enjoyed the place so much and would love to come again next year for a longer stay. I gave her souvenirs such as t-shirts, refrigerator magnet, key holders, beaded coin purse, hot chili powder and durian candies. She appreciated my gifts, she gave me a box of chocolates and cash gift as I didn’t buy anything when we were shopping at the mall. I hope and pray that she would come again soon as I enjoyed the places that we’ve been to being the host of my place.

My brother had been working in pediatric intensive care unit as a staff nurse in the hospital for 11 years now. Their department has just transferred to a new building for safety and proper ventilation. I visited him last week, and I was surprised that their facilities and equipment were new and newly painted building. He said the purchaser had a great choice for equipment and they bought it at Howard-Medical.com med cart. The Reader Movie
I was watching the movie “the reader” on dvd, I borrowed it from my friend who just watched it recently. Starred in this movie were Kate Winslet played the role of Hanna Schmitz- a lonely working-class woman who experiences a brief but intense affair with a teenage boy and Ralph Fiennes played the role of Michael Bergman who studied in high school and later in law school. They met accidentally at the place of Hanna where he was vomiting because of fever and measles. Hanna was helping him until he was relieved and went home alone. He was confined in his home and told his mother that a woman helped him out while he was vomiting in a rainy street. After 2 months, he went to her place, brought some flowers in the morning to thank her. They had fallen in love and had a relationship though Hanna was older than him. Every time Michael would come home to her place he would read a book for her only to find out she was illiterate.
Until one day, Hanna decided to transfer to another place so that Michael could concentrate on his studies. Years later, they met again when Hanna had a case trial on post nazi war where she was pin-pointed as one of the guards but the truth, she wasn’t involved on a notorious case. It’s hard when you are illiterate because you don’t know what to do but to accept the crime you hadn’t done. She was convicted and guilty for admitting a crime although she was very innocent. She sentenced to life imprisonment but it lasted only for 20 years. While on the prison cell, Michael who was now a lawyer, sent her cassette recorder and some tapes reading some books for her. She was learning how to read and write while hearing some tapes that Michael had sent her. After 20 years serving her sentenced, she was pardoned and released. The warden called up Michael telling him that she will be released soon. Hanna had no family, only Michael was recorded as her contact person.
On their first meeting after 20 years, Hanna looked so old, she was on her senior years, while Michael was a grown man and a lawyer. Hanna said to him you’re grown up kid. Michael told her that he was married with 1 daughter but their marriage didn’t last. He laready prepared for her release where to stay and where to work for her future. After a week, Michael visited her and brought some flowers but Hanna was gone, she left without notice. She just leave a note and cash to give it to the victim’s relatives who died on the crime she hadn’t done. Micheal went to the victim’s relatives, gave the cash to her but she didn’t accept it instead she instructed him to gave it to the illiterate organization for their funds. After many years, Hanna died Michael and his daughter visited her at the cemetery and begun making a story about her. At the end of the movie, I was crying because Hanna had many sacrifices just to save the defendants, she was imprisoned because of illiteracy. She was a woman of passion, love and full of sacrifices and she was really a saint.
Best Weight Loss Pill
This past few weeks, I had noticed that I gained more weight because of successive parties that I had been attending lately. I was worried because I will attend a wedding next month. I should be wearing a gown and I want to look good on the the wedding of my friend. I want to loss weight even just for a few pounds. My friend suggested to try taking the best weight loss pill that she had been taken already hoping that it would work for me too. She also invited me to join the fun run for operation smile this coming sunday for free so that we would be forced to join as it was offered free. Her husband would join too because he was also struggling to loss weight like me. I hope by taking the diet pills and joining the fun run 3 times a month would benefit myself to loss weight and would make my body stronger and healthier.
Cotton Tunic Blouse
My aunt from usa gave me this cotton cloth as her present when she had a vacation in the Philippines long time ago. To be exact this cloth was already a decade now. My mom had a cloth also that was given by my aunt too. I just kept the cloth because I didn’t know what clothes I would make with this cloth besides its so expensive to pay to the dressmaker nowadays. Until recently my sister had found a dressmaker that charges very cheap amount but quality made, she also accepts repairs at a minimum charge. My mother brought her cloth to her with a nice design of blouse and skirt at 200 pesos charge. It was so amazing the price was cheap but very fine work. I decided to have my cloth to be made of blouse with the same design of my blouse that I had. This is the design of my blouse, its made of sleeveless with a garter at the edge. I would match this with my black leggings, the charge was only 100 pesos. You could just imagine how cheap her charge was but it was quality made. 
Anniversary Gifts For Husband
In a couple of weeks, my sister’s husband will arrive from abroad for a vacation. His vacation was earlier before christmas because he will be back after 2 weeks in december. He had purposely asked his boss for an early vacation because he will celebrate with my sister their 6th wedding anniversary. It was last month that my sister was excited for the coming of her husband until now that it has only a couple of weeks of his coming. She couldn’t wait to see her husband after 2 years of working abroad. She had been busy looking for something unique that she could give to her husband, an Anniversary Gifts for Husband that would last in time. Though her gifts is not that expensive but its unique kind and he doesn’t have this kind of thing in his life. I’m sure he would appreciate the effort that his wife was giving him as its the thought that counts and that he would be pleased on their anniversary celebration.
Overseas Phone Calls
I was sleeping this afternoon because I was tired of cleaning the house. I didn’t realize that it was dark already and my phone rang. I woke up answering the phone, it was my sister from Qatar who called up. I was surprised because she hadn’t called us for a few months already. She said she was very busy at work, and had the chance to talk to us now. It was a brief conversation and promised to call back again when she got home. True enough, she called up again but we were having our dinner plus we experienced a black out for a few minutes. I charged my mobile when the power was on as I was expecting her to call back again. They had talked with my mama asking about our situation here. It was nice talking to her again on the phone after a few months that we hadn’t talk but we always chat on yahoo messenger and facebook every day when she had time to chat at work.
Collection Agency
My friend at work had experienced a problem from her friend who borrowed her credit to buy some construction materials for church donation. At first, her friend paid 3 months installment payments but after that she failed to pay and she was gone abroad. My friend refused to pay it because it wasn’t her debt although her friend was using her credit card through her consent. It was already a year that she had ignored it and didn’t pay any amount so she was endorsed to a collection agency for demand payments. She had no choice but to coordinate with them and signed an agreement to pay it for 2 years. It was a relief to her because she paid it in an installment basis and she was not pestered with the demand letter and phone calls anymore.
